People for Little Egypt

 

 

The "Little Egypt" Area is Key to Cairo's Success... and Cairo is Key to It's Success. Tourism and Entertainment and Historical Preservation are of Vital Importance to The Economic and Cultural Growth of Southern Illinois.

 

The Incredible Potential of The Little Egypt Area for Local, National and International Tourist Interest and Trade is not a "New Revelation". Many Prominent People in Education, Government and Other Various Institutions in Southern Illinois and The Entire State have Pondered On and Planned for Future Development of "Little Egypt" for Years. Why these Aspirations, Interests and Dreams have not Come to Fruition... is about as Puzzling as Why Cairo Itself has not Blossomed and Bloomed? Perhaps, in like manner, The "Time" was not Right... for one Reason or Another. And most probably... like Cairo... there has been just too much Apathy, Division and Lack of Vision and Inspiration. Not enough People "On The Same Page"!

 

But... with The Coming of The 21st Century... The Times Have Changed... The Situation Has Changed... The People Have Changed... and Common Needs have made Common Interests out of once Differing Schools of Thought on Tourism and Historical Preservation. Various Educators and Leaders in Southern Illinois have Realized The Need to Work Together... for The Mutual Benefit of Everyone.

 

The "People" Involved and Associated with this "Dream" are like Pieces of a Grand Puzzle. Together... they can bring The "Big Picture" into Focus... and Begin The Building of One of The Greatest Tourist Attractions in The World. The Foundations have Been Laid. Through The Years... The Inspiration and Endeavors of a Great Many People... working in Isolation and Small Groups... are Finally Coming Together to Form a Unified Vision.

 

Now... It's Time To Build!

My Intention and Contribution... is to Help Bring The Shakers and Movers of Southern Illinois Together. That's My Forte...

 

One of My Initial Projects is to Build a Web Site... with The Main Interest of Tourism and Historical Preservation as Its Central Theme. Also of Primary Importance is Networking for All Interested and Active Citizens in The Little Egypt Area... and as a Source of Information for Tourists Interested in in Visiting and/or Vacationing  in Little Egypt.

 

The Project and Web Site is Called "People for Little Egypt". The Domain Name for The Site is "People4LE.Net" and a Web Host has been established. At this time... the Web Site is still Under Construction. Hopefully, I can get it Up and Running... with The Initial Basic Services Available.
