Vision

"Vision" is  Being Able to See or Imagine a Future that "Can Be". It is being able to See The Potential in Places, Things and People that Most People Can't or Don't Want to See or Accept as True. Sometimes it Involves Faith and a Belief in The Essential Human Spirit... but more often than not it Simply Involves Looking Past The Mist of Social Ignorance and Negative Human Emotions... and with an Unbiased Objectivity... Envision Realities that were there All Along... but Denied!

To Me... It Is Clear As Day!

But for Most... It Is Clear as Mud!

It Is a Matter of Perspective...

Most People See a Wounded Town... and Point to Our Scars and Say "That is why you can't make it"... and I Say "That is Why We Will Make It". Why would I Appeal to a Town without Knowledge of Its Wounds... or has Not Been in any Form of Battle. "Warriors" generally do not Graduate from Harvard, Princeton or Yale! We Need Real People Voting and Involved in Politics!

Most People See a Corrupt Town... and Point to Our Past and Say "That is why you can't make it"... and I Say "That was Then and This is Now". There were not Nearly as Many Corrupt People in Cairo as there were Corrupt Situations. A few Powerful People Controlled Things Then... and in Their Own Petty and Self Serving Way established a Static and Rigid City that was Aversive to Progressive Change. Most of Those People are Gone... and Those  Remaining better Get Out of Our Way. Actually, I don't See "Various People" as The Obstacles to Cairo's Growth anymore. Today... it is Practically to Everyone's Advantage that Cairo Grows and Prospers.

Most People See a Racially Divided Town... and Point to Our Past and Say "That is why you can't make it"... and I Say "Where Ya Been Man... This Is The 21st Century". Of course, there Still Are Racial Divisions... just as there still are Sexual and Class Divisions. But Cairo Today IS NOT a Racially Divided Town. If anything... The Need to Work Together for a Common Cause has brought Us All more together... and eliminated many of The Differences of Experience that gave birth to Racial Problems in The First Place. Cultural Diversity is a Good Thing... but The Cultural Bias that it sometimes engenders can cause Unnecessary Harm to Innocent People... especially Children and Youth. And "That" is Something We Can Address and Work On! Any Volunteers?

Now... What Do You See???

I See a Progressive and Dynamic Cairo!

What is Your Vision???
