For Me... Running for Mayor is a "Win/Win" Situation!
My Original... and still Primary Goal... is to Address The Issues... and Encourage The Other Candidates to also Address them. Being "Accountable" is The Word!
Too many times... a Candidate's Platform is too Weak and Wishy Washy. Sometimes... Candidates get Elected without even "Having" a Platform. Then again... many times The Citizens don't even have a Choice!
Hopefully, in this next Election... The Community will have Many Choices... and Every Candidate will give a lot of Thought into The Issues... and how they are going to Address Them. If Candidates cannot be Open and Candid "Now"... how can We Expect Them to Be Supportive of "Total Disclosure & Accountability" After The Election?
In every Good Relationship... there must be some Commitments Made. The Voters have a Right to Know about The People Who Will Be Representing Them. By the time a Citizen goes to The Poll to Vote... they should have a good "Feel" for all of The Candidates. Not only should they have a Well Defined Platform to go by... they should know a lot about The Candidates Themselves... Their Interests and History and Goals... and Commitments. What do they Plan to "Do"... and How are they going to go about it???
All Public Officials should have an "Open Door" Policy... where Every Citizen of The Community can Voice Their Opinions and Concerns... and have The Ability to "Participate" in City Government. That should also be True for Political Candidates!
